Hand Cut in Bar Work

Russell, a 23 year old student, was working in a bar in Clifton, Bristol when he reached down to take out a bottle of alcohol which, unknown to him, was broken.

The bottle broke in his hand cutting him and injuring a nerve and a tendon in his right hand. His hand has been left with scarring. A settlement for defective work equipment of £8,000 was agreed without Court proceedings.
